Virtual Development Center While offering companies a very attractive alternative to in-house software development effort, Remote Development Center solutions require some start-up efforts in terms of both time and money. For those types of companies, VEL Technologies has developed a special set up option, called the Virtual Remote Development Center. The idea behind this option is to allow customers utilize VEL's own development center and thus limit initial set up and ongoing maintenance efforts.
Components of a Virtual Development Center In a nutshell, VEL Technologies provides its clients with the entire office setup - real estate facilities, internet and phone communications and computers. VEL puts personnel that the customer wants to use on its payroll and provides all administrative and human resources management. It can even provide recruiting services to locate, screen and recommend the personnel according to the customer's requirements. The people hired on behalf of the customer are absolutely dedicated to customer's projects. They are being managed by customer's personnel in the US. VEL can also provide services to the customer to train the US personnel in remote development methodologies developed by VEL, or to assist in project management of the people in the Virtual RDC. All these services are provided for a packaged monthly fee calculated based on the amount of people the customer requires.
Getting Started The Virtual RDC Option has several advantages. First, it requires very little setup, thus the customer can start it almost immediately. Second, the commitment by the customer is very limited, since VEL is carrying all long term costs. Finally, if the Virtual RDC proved useful, the customer can choose to move the people to the full Remote Development Center for now extra costs once they decide to establish it.
